Painter 8.
No references.
-I started this guy because of an Orc-themed thread at conceptart.org, but as you can see, he kinda turned into something else.
Not sure what he is actually, so I just call him a wookie orc.
This time I worked without layers, and used the Round Camelhair brush in Painter 8 for all of it.
Another thing I did this time, for the first time actually, was to start out with a canvas of 800x600 pixels and at only 72dpi. Not good if you want to print it out, but it proved to be easy to work with since it was an easier load for the computer.
I usually draw/paint on huge canvases in 300dpi and above, which also works fine, but takes it's toll on the computer, although I have a Pentium 4 3Ghz with 1024MB DDR RAM.
It was really a lot of fun, and that's probably why it went really fast this time. That is - fast for being me:
I think I spent about maybe eight hours all in all on this one, which is little compared to what I usually spend.
Painter 8 really has turned out to be a good tool, and I understand now why the professional artists use it.
